In alignment with the values of care and compassion promoted during the holy month of Ramadan, the Suleiman Hearing and Educational Foundation (SHEF) organized a one-day program in Katsina State on March 16, 2024. This initiative focused on providing free hearing screening, general medical check-ups, and food support to less privileged individuals. The program was designed to address immediate health needs, raise awareness about hearing health, and extend support through food aid for families during Ramadan.
Objectives

  1. To Provide Access to Health Services: Offer free hearing screening and medical check-ups to underserved individuals who lack access to regular healthcare.
  2. To Raise Awareness on Hearing Health: Educate the community about the importance of hearing care, early detection of hearing issues, and preventive measures.
  3. To Support Vulnerable Families: Distribute foodstuffs to patients and their families to ease the burden of Ramadan fasting amidst economic challenges.

Key Activities:

  1. Free Hearing Screening and Medical Check-Ups
    A team of audiologists, doctors, and nurses conducted comprehensive health assessments for patients.
    Hearing screenings included evaluations using audiometers and otoscopes to identify hearing impairments or ear-related issues.
    General medical check-ups were offered to address common health concerns, including blood pressure monitoring, glucose level testing, and consultations.
