SHEF Partners with Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board for a 2-Day Ear and Hearing Care Program
Day 1: 4th December 2024
The Suleiman Hearing and Educational Foundation (SHEF), in collaboration with the Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, successfully conducted the first day of the 2-Day Ear and Hearing Care Program for Health Workers in Kano State.
The focus of today’s session was on Primary Ear Care and the Management of Ear Diseases and Hearing Loss. Participants, comprising health workers from various local government areas, were trained on:
Understanding the anatomy and physiology of the ear.
Identifying common ear diseases and their causes.
Preventive strategies for ear health and hearing preservation.
Basic management techniques for ear diseases and hearing loss.
Referral pathways for complex cases.
The interactive sessions included lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises aimed at empowering health workers with the skills and knowledge needed to enhance ear and hearing care services in their respective communities.
The enthusiasm and active participation of the attendees were evident throughout the day, reflecting their commitment to improving the health and well-being of their communities.
